Perfection was the thing to set your eyes on. The thing to keep your focus on, to aim for, to strive for. It was the only way to be truly amazing in this world, to be perfect. Now, the standard of perfect differ from person to person, and really what needs to be achieved is personal perfection, being perfect in your own eyes. That truly is a feat that not many have done.
The status of perfection was quiet simple in the eyes of Laken Rose Cullens. To be the smartest, to be the prettiest, to follow all the rules, to be thoughtful and carry good conversation, to be friendly, and to be interesting. That was her view of perfection, something she strives for everyday. That is why she is to currently be found in an empty classroom, wand in hand, book in lap, and quill on the empty desk across from the one she currently is perched on.
The light from the window was behind her, making her look angelic as she sat, the sun playing her blonde hair, currently in a complicated up-do of curls. Her dark emerald skirt was full, something that reflected her wealthy family background. As she sat, her matching heeled shoes were barely visible, just the toe peaking out. Her golden colored petticoat covered her stiff corset that kept her posture very straight as she sat on the desk.
"Engorgio," Laken mumbled as she pointed it at the quill. It was the charm to cause something to enlarge. Not really part of the curriculum, she was taking her free hour to learn how to properly do this spell. It was part of her strive toward perfect. She was already smart, one of the smartest in her class, but she had to continue learning to keep that reputation up.
The quill quivered as the spell tried to work, but failed. She'd been working for a full five minutes and this was getting old. She let out a sigh as she set down her wand. Deciding to take a break for a moment, she played with her white undershirt that covered up what the rest of her clothing did not; from her wrists to the middle of her neck was covered with the white shirt. It was one of her simpler outfits, something she used to practice magic in.
Laken picked up her wand again and stared down the quill. She was going to get this right. She was Head Girl, she had to be able to do this. "Engorgio," escaped her lips and the quill grew a fraction of an inch. She smiled and looked triumphant as she decided to continue. She would learn this spell before her free period was over.
